Acryl Sani leads Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd as chairman

Former top cop assumes role following departure of Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris last Dec

KUALA LUMPUR – Former top cop Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been appointed chairman of Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) effective today.

The post was left vacant when Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris stepped down on December 20 last year.

The former inspector-general (IGP) is also an independent and non-executive deputy chairman at Dagang NeXchange Bhd.

On Acryl Sani’s appointment as PUNB chairman, chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin said, “We are confident of working closely with Acryl Sani and taking advantage of his extensive experience and strategic insight in the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in this country.”

Acryl Sani served as IGP between May 4, 2021, and June 22, 2023. Previously, he was Bukit Aman’s Internal Security and Public Order Department director (2018-2020), Commercial Crime Investigation Department director (2017), Perak police chief (2013) and Sarawak police commissioner (2011-2013).

He holds a master’s degree in management from Universiti Utara Malaysia and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. – September 1, 2023
