Hunan Normal University confers honorary doctorate to OCM veep Kim Fatt

Datuk Chong Kim Fatt says the award will motivate him to fully commit to the future of sports in the country

HANGZHOU — Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) vice president Datuk Chong Kim Fatt was today conferred an honorary doctorate in Traditional Wushu Sport by the Institute of Ethnic Sports Culture of Hunan Normal University.

Kim Fatt who is also the chef de mission (CDM) of the Malaysian contingent to the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, received the award that was presented by the director of the institute, Zhang Ji Sheng at the Team Processing Center (TPC), here.

“I wish to thank the university for this presentation and utmost thanks to the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and OCM president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria for providing this opportunity and support.

“I would also like to thank Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and the government of Malaysia for their support,” said Kim Fatt who is also the president of the Malaysia Wushu Federation, when met at the presentation ceremony here today.

Commenting further, Kim Fatt said the award will be an incredible motivation for him to give his full commitment and dedication to the future of sports in the country. — September 21, 2023
