KUALA LUMPUR – Heavy rainfall since early this afternoon has led to flooding in various parts of Cheras.

On social media, people indicated that areas such as Eko Cheras and the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute have been struck by floodwaters.

On Twitter, automotive journalist Paul Tan noted several areas in the district being inundated.

“A quick check on Twitter timeline shows people saying (the) Eko Cheras area is flooded,” he said.

“Stay safe, and don’t forget to get special perils add-on for your car insurance so you are covered for flood damage,” he said.

A Facebook user, who goes by the handle Ali Ghani, told road users to remove their vehicles from the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI) parking bay.

“Please move your car, Zone R of UMBI parking in Cheras is flooded.”

A video reel on radio station EraFM’s Facebook page shows that flooding had also struck parts of Bandar Sri Permaisuri.
