SUBANG JAYA – The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today got a massive financial boost for Phase 2 of its F:30 roadmap, when it received US$500,000 (RM2,346,252) from the Asean Football Federation (AFF).

F:30 is the football governing body’s ambitious plan to become a world-class team by 2030.

In the second phase set to span from 2023 until 2026, FAM is looking to establish itself as a powerhouse in Asean and compete with the big dogs in Asia.

“I am delighted to share with you on behalf of the AFF council that we will commit US$500,000 to FAM for the second phase of the F:30 roadmap,” said AFF president Major General Khiev Sameth at the launch of Phase 2 of the F:30 roadmap, here today.

He also commended FAM’s exemplary F:30 roadmap, suggesting that other member nations within AFF should take note and consider adopting similar strategies.

The financial support extended to FAM is earmarked for infrastructure development projects and is not limited to specific areas within the F:30 roadmap.

“We will give to every member nation US$500,000 for infrastructure development.

“FAM can use the funds for whatever projects in the F:30 roadmap,” said Khiev.

For Phase 2 of the F:30 plan, FAM will focus on three main cores, which are brand development through sponsorship and collaboration with private entities; growing the game by expanding the pool of players in the country; as well as strengthening the national squad and empowering the organisation with innovative approaches. – November 11, 2023
