KAJANG – Former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff has filed a police report against the police force over an alleged breach of confidentiality regarding a previously submitted report.

His lawyer, Faizal Rahman, said that Agus’s initial report had been compromised, leading to suspicions of an internal information leak within the police force.

“We want to refrain from making speculations, our concern is the credibility of information from the Royal Malaysian Police. The police need to be held accountable for this breach.

“This case is under investigation as a classified crime. It is baffling how a crucial police report could be exposed. We urge the police to initiate a thorough investigation into this matter,” he told reporters outside the Kajang district police headquarters today.

Faizal accompanied Agus, who was summoned to testify to the police regarding the dissemination of a video clip featuring an explicit conversation resembling Agus and assistant J-Kom officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani.

During his testimony, Agus revealed that he had disclosed the identity of Mr H, an alleged mastermind behind the spread of the video, to the police for further investigation.

Earlier, in a press conference, Agus and Wahab had asserted that the viral video of their conversation was edited.

Faizal also disclosed that Wahab would soon be summoned to provide evidence to the police.

“Wahab will be called by the police, the timing is yet to be determined, but it will be in the near future.

“We are considering various factors, especially Wahab’s security. Nonetheless, we are committed to cooperating with the police,” he stated.

In a previous press conference, Agus and Abdul Wahab had contended that the circulated video of their conversation had been manipulated.

Wahab claimed that he had been directed by an individual named Mr H to record a video of his conversation with Agus. – November 20, 2023
