KUALA LUMPUR – A rubber tire from the KL Monorail caught fire and fell on a road near the Titiwangsa station in Jalan Tun Razak, earlier this afternoon.

Fortunately, according to the Fire and Rescue Department there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

In a statement, the department’s operations centre said it had received a call at about 12.57pm today, before dispatching five personnel and an auxiliary machine to the scene.

Operations commander Nooridzwan Mohamad Noor said department personnel had discovered the monorail tire had fallen on the road upon their arrival.

However, he said the team managed to extinguish the flame.

“There were no victims involved and the cause of the fire is still under investigation,” he added. – December 19, 2023
