Two dead, two injured in Puchong Utama factory blast

Explosion, reportedly involving acetylene gas tanks, occurred within 30 by 60 sq ft premise

KUALA LUMPUR – At least two people died and another two injured when a factory in the Puchong Utama industrial park blew up today.

According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the explosion involved acetylene gas tanks in a 30 by 60 sq ft factory.

“Ventilation works are being done to eliminate gas that is still detected in the premises. Health Ministry personnel and the Puchong fire chief are also at the scene.”

The identities of the victims were not disclosed.

An emergency call was received at 10.14am. – February 23, 2024
