KOTA BHARU – Kelantan United FC (KUFC) will be rebranded as Kelantan Darul Naim (KDNFC) for the Malaysia League competition (M-League) this season.
KUFC president Rozi Muhammad said the rebranding of the club’s name and logo comes from the desire of the management to unite all Kelantan football supporters under one proud banner and flag for the state.
He said the name and logo change is not aimed at replacing the main team, “Kelantan FC” but it is a change made to see the club as being more competitive and is able to compete in the highest hierarchy of the Malaysian League with other major clubs.
“It is our great hope that with the use of this new name and logo will see all parties in Kelantan unite for the development of state’s football to be more competitive and challenge other clubs,” he said in a statement today.
Rozi called on KDNFC’s staunch fans to give their support and cheer and fill the stadium in every league game this season.
According to him, the management is also grateful to the Malaysian Football League and First Instant Body for accepting the rebranding of the club for the 2024/2025 competition.
“We are also grateful to all Kelantan football fans and supporters for the outpouring of ideas and opinions regarding the rebranding of KUFC to KDNFC,” he said. – March 12, 2024
