AN officer from the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council await Muslim patrons visiting the Pantai Dalam Ramadan bazaar to fulfil their zakat (tithe) obligations.

Muslims pay their “zakat fitrah” every Ramadan between the first of Ramadan and before the evening of the first of Syawal, where Aidilfitri will then be celebrated.

The rates vary according to state and income level and range between RM7 to RM24 per person. – March 23, 2024
