KUALA LUMPUR – Over 10 vehicles were involved in a massive accident on the Federal Highway, including a garbage disposal truck.
According to Astro Radio Traffic, the incident near i-City has caused a traffic jam on the road heading to Bukit Raja.
The traffic information account also shared a video of the accident’s aftermath, with multiple cars seen in various states of damage.
Passengers and concerned passers-by crowded the site to survey the damage.
Based on another video of the same accident posted by X user @abdulqayyumafiq, the incident appears to have been caused by the garbage truck colliding with an SUV.
The video also captured large amounts of debris on the road as a result of the multiple-vehicle collision.
Yesterday, the police’s Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department recorded 14 deaths and 1,683 accidents on the road as travellers made their way back to their hometowns for upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.
On April 5, the first day of the Raya exodus, 25 people were killed in road accidents, and 2,185 accidents were recorded. – April 9, 2024
