SHAH ALAM – To secure Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s second term as the nation’s leader, PKR is gearing up for the 16th general election (GE16) two years in advance, said party deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

This goal will be further amplified with the launch of two of the party’s frameworks today – the Pemerkasaan Organisasi Parti (POP25) plan and the Keadilan Menang Siri Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-16 (KEMAS16) plan.

“Both frameworks aim to fortify our strength from the grassroots to the top and foster a new empowerment so we can be prepared ahead of GE16.

“After the launch, the whole leadership and party strength will crisscross to other states in phases as a sign of our preparedness for GE16 starting today – with complete goals and clear metrics.

“God-willing, our preparation two years early will ensure (Anwar) stays as the prime minister after the upcoming general election,” he said at PKR’s special 25th-anniversary assembly at Ideal Convention Centre today.

The Kemas16 (Keadilan Menang PRU16) programme is PKR’s framework to prepare and consolidate the party’s strength to face the next general election.

Pop25 (Pemerkasaan Organisasi Parti 25 Tahun) on the other hand, is aimed at ensuring the party remains relevant for the next 25 years.

Currently, PKR’s strengths, which are the ability to control alternative media, are starting to be dominated by opposing parties.

“Since most of the party leaders are also government leaders, we are facing challenges in addressing issues faced by the people,” he added. – April 21, 2024
