Grab inks deal with MFL as official e-hailing, food market partner

KUALA LUMPUR – Grab Malaysia has officially partnered with the Malaysian Football League (MFL) as the designated e-hailing and food market partner. 

This collaboration promises an enhanced experience for football enthusiasts, both on and off the field.

Through this alliance, Grab will actively engage with football fans, including Grab users, drivers and dispatchers, during matches and via the Grab app. 

The collaboration kicks off with the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup on May 10, where fans can expect exciting offers and promotions within the Grab app.

In a statement released today, Grab emphasised its commitment to enriching the football experience for fans nationwide. 

“We understand how important football is in uniting the country and fostering the spirit of love for the country. 

“Through this collaboration, we aim to support the MFL in its mission to enhance the football experience for fans across the country by leveraging our technological and innovation capabilities. 

“Together, we hope to increase the reach and impact of professional football in Malaysia,” said Grab Malaysia managing director Adelene Foo.

Echoing this sentiment, MFL chief executive Datuk Stuart Ramalingam underscored football’s role as a unifying force in Malaysia. 

“Football has always been a unifying force in our country as it brings people together in the same passion for the sport and fosters unity and togetherness. 

“This collaboration aims to enhance the engagement and experience of fans, as well as create unforgettable moments for them all over Malaysia,” he said.

The memorandum of understanding signing between Grab and MFL was attended by key figures from both organisations, including MFL president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan, MFL board member Joehari Ayub, Senator Datuk Hisamudin Yahaya, Grab country operations and mobility director Rashid Shukor, Grab commercial and deliveries director Jiong Jian Tan and Grab public affairs and policy director Ebi Azly Abdullah. – May 2, 2024
