Photo of the day: A refreshing spectacle of colours at Kg Warna Warni

10:29 PM MYT

SMALL traders sell drinks and snacks against a colourful backdrop of painted houses at Kg Warna Warni in Kuala Perlis – where seven villages were brought together under a transformation programme to turn the area into a tourist attraction.

The seven villages are Kg Baru Seberang, Kg Tandiap, Kg Hujung Tanjong, Kg Tengah, Kg Seberang Alor, Kg Seberang Jaya and Kg Pulau Ketam.

They were ordinary fishing villages until the Crown Prince of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail conceived the idea for their transformation in 2020. From rubbish-choked alleys, the area is now a major tourism location as the state strives to attract visitors for Visit Perlis Year 2024. – May 17, 2024
