KUALA LUMPUR – Four individuals, including a dental assistant and a real estate agent, pleaded guilty in Bentong Court, Pahang, today to charges of endangering the lives of others.
Magistrate Nadhratun Naeiem Zainan ordered each of the accused to pay a fine of RM500. They are all accused under Section 336 of the Penal Code of endangering life or personal safety.
According to the charges, the accused – Fadhli Zil Ikram Sazalin Isran Ji, 24; Nurfatin Irdina Shahrulnizam, 24; Nur Anis Salleh, 24; and Nur Azira Azman, 23 – were charged with cooking using a gas stove near a petrol station at Taman Cendawan, Genting Highlands, on May 12, thereby endangering the safety of others.
The prosecution was conducted by Muhammad Zamharir Muhammad Zuhid, while none of the accused were represented by lawyers.
It was reported yesterday that police recorded statements from 15 individuals who recently used a gas stove to cook noodles at a petrol station in Genting Highlands, Pahang.
Pahang police chief Datuk Yahaya Othman said statements were taken from 10 men and five women who presented themselves at the Bentong district police headquarters.
Police opened an investigation paper regarding a group of individuals who were captured in a video on social media cooking at a petrol station in Genting Highlands.
Last Wednesday, Bentong police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said police received a report about a viral video clip on the incident, believed to have been an activity by a group of vehicle owners. – May 21, 2024
