KUALA LUMPUR – The National Training Week (NTW) has drawn a diverse crowd eager to enhance their skills, network, and explore new career paths.

The event, which has grown in scale and impact over the years, is being held from June 24 to 30 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, attracting thousands of attendees.

Mohd Haniff Bahari, a finance specialist and returning attendee, praised the increased participation and training quality offered during the NTW, organised by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).

“Now, there are more participants, more training sessions and many skills that we can acquire.

“Another advantage is that it is free, so anyone can join.  The training (involved) is excellent,” he enthused.

He highlighted the importance of continuous learning, even for those already employed.

“If you join the NTW, it will enhance our skills. Even though we are employed, we still need training and knowledge. Those who provide the training are knowledgeable,” Haniff added, noting the fresh perspectives and inputs gained from the event.

Naariesh, a medical student attending the NTW for the first time, said the experience has been “eye-opening”.

“This is my first time coming here. It’s quite impressive. All the booths here make it more interesting.

With an eye on his future career, he found the NTW especially beneficial, and he enjoyed the social aspects of the event.

“Before I go on my internship, this will help me search for courses or jobs.

“My motivation for coming here is to make more friends and interact with others, in addition to the experience,” Naariesh said.

He was delighted to make some valuable connections, particularly with financial companies, and expressed his enthusiasm for the art booths, which reflected his diverse interests.

Khairulazam Annuar, a seasoned attendee, came to the NTW this year with his daughter.

The hospitality management lecturer noted a noticeable increase in activity and participation compared to previous years.

Khairulazam said that more companies are participating, providing attendees with a broader range of opportunities.

“I met one of my old colleagues here. He’s looking to change jobs, and this event offers him a chance to explore various options,” he said.

Khairulazam expressed optimism for his daughter and sees the NTW as a valuable platform for professional growth and networking.

HRD Corp planned the comprehensive event to promote skill development and career advancement.

This annual event features a variety of workshops, seminars, and training sessions led by industry experts in fields as diverse as technology, healthcare, finance, and art.
