Montika the hero as KL City edges Selangor FC

Both teams were evenly matched before Montika broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute

KUALA LUMPUR – A 63rd-minute Jovan Montika goal was all Kuala Lumpur City FC needed to beat Selangor FC 1-0 in their Klang Valley Super League derby at the Cheras Football Stadium, here last night.

The win sees the City Boys, under the guidance of coach Miroslav Kuljanac, jump from the seventh spot to fourth in the 13-team standings with seven points, while the Red Giants stay in second spot with nine points.

Last night’s match saw both teams evenly matched in the first half and neither could break the deadlock.

KL City finally found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Montika latched on to a pass from Muhammad Hakimi Azim Rosli to slot it home. – July 15, 2024
