KUALA LUMPUR – Umno’s Mahkota assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, 63, is in critical condition and receiving treatment for internal bleeding at Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang, Johor.

Batu Pahat Umno’s women chief Haliza Abdullah confirmed this with Berita Harian, saying she was informed of Sharifah Azizah’s condition by several party members in Johor.

“Yes, it’s true. Several Batu Pahat Wanita Umno members and I will be heading to Kluang Hospital this afternoon to visit her.”

Sharifah Azizah won the Mahkota state seat in the 2022 state election. Prior to that, she served as an assemblywoman for Penawar from 2018 to 2022.

Meanwhile, Pulai Sebatang rep Hasrunizah Hassan said Sharifah Azizah was hospitalised in March due to internal bleeding.

“She was discharged a few months ago. However, it was very shocking to hear this morning that her condition became critical. I pray for her recovery and will be visiting her at Kluang Hospital.” – July 31, 2024
