KUALA LUMPUR – The body of 23-year-old singer Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, known by his stage name Nidza Afham, will be buried in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam, today in the evening, between 3pm and after Asar prayers.

His elder sister, Efahanie, announced that the “solat jenazah” (funeral prayers) will take place at the Puncak Alam Mosque, with the burial to follow at Felda Bukit Cherakah, near SMK Puncak Alam.

“My younger brother will be buried at Puncak Alam after Zohor prayers. The funeral prayers are to be held at the Puncak Alam Mosque, and Insha Allah, the burial will be at the Felda Bukit Cherakah cemetery near SMK Puncak Alam,” she initially posted on X.

Later, she updated that hospital-related matters had caused a delay in the burial.

“Still not finished with the hospital. The latest estimate is around 3-4pm until after Asar,” she wrote.

Efahanie also shared that the family is awaiting the results of the post mortem, expressing hope that Nidza did not pass away in a state of suffering.

“We are still waiting for the post-mortem result. I don’t know what to expect. I hope he did not suffer,” she posted.

Nidza Afham was reported missing by his family yesterday after he went for a jog the previous night.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed yesterday evening that Nidza’s body had been found floating in the river near the Sg Klang bridge.

“The body was taken to the Shah Alam Hospital for identification by the family and post mortem,” he told Scoop when contacted.

The case is currently being treated as a “sudden death” pending further information from the autopsy.

Nidza Afham gained recognition for his participation in Season 3 of I Can See Your Voice Malaysia in 2020. He was also known for his song covers on YouTube, including a rendition of “Rindu Setengah Mati,” which has garnered 6.5 million views. Additionally, he released a single titled “Ternyata Bukan Aku.” – August 15, 2024
