KUALA LUMPUR — A man was arrested by federal authorities at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, after travelling from Malaysia with allegedly forged documents.
According to a Pakistan Observer report, the suspect, Muhammad Naeem Khan, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency.
It is not yet known whether the man is a Pakistani or Malaysian citizen, or if he was carrying a forged Malaysian or Pakistani passport.
It is understood that Naeem had a counterfeit immigration stamp on his passport when caught by authorities, indicating that he departed from Karachi on March 26 last year. However, there were no records in their International Border Management System of his departure.
The report explained that Naeem acquired the fake stamp from Bakht Nawab, an agent located in Malaysia, for RM3,400.
Scoop has reached out to the Inspector-general of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husein and the immigration department for further comments on this matter.
Meanwhile, last month, Bernama reported that the Malaysian Immigration Department took action and dismantled a document forgery and fake stamp syndicate in Klang Valley operated by Pakistani nationals.
The mastermind of the syndicate, who was named Azhar, was detained in Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur.
