Khazanah calls off Raya open house in respect of Pak Lah’s passing

KUALA LUMPUR – Khazanah Nasional Bhd has cancelled its 2025 Aidilfitri Open House as a mark of respect for the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Malaysia’s fifth prime minister and former chairman of the sovereign wealth fund. 

In a statement released today, the government-linked investment firm confirmed that the open house, which was to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, has been called off. 

“As the nation mourns the passing of Tun Abdullah, we regret to inform you that the Khazanah Hari Raya Open House 2025 is cancelled. 

Our prayers for Tun Abdullah and our deepest condolences to his family,” it said. 

Tun Abdullah, who served as prime minister from 2003 to 2009, passed away at 7.10pm yesterday at the National Heart Institute (IJN). He was 85. – April 15, 2025
