KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will oversee and maintain strong internet connectivity at key locations here in conjunction with the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA’25), according to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said the MCMC had been instructed to be on-site to monitor any connectivity issues that may arise during the event, Bernama reported.

“We expect a large number of visitors throughout LIMA’25, and we want to ensure their internet experience is more than satisfactory.

“So far, I’ve been informed that there have been no issues with connectivity. In fact, telecommunications companies have also assisted by installing boosters and other equipment to enhance coverage at several locations,” he told reporters after attending the Jelajah Kempen Internet Selamat programme for the Northern Zone in Langkawi today.

Also present at the event were Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, MCMC Commissioner General (Rtd) Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.

Fahmi added that he would personally visit the LIMA’25 exhibition grounds tomorrow to assess the state of internet access and facilities.

He said MCMC had also set up an on-site communications monitoring centre to ensure uninterrupted connectivity throughout the five-day event.

LIMA’25, the 17th edition of the biennial showcase, will take place from tomorrow until May 24. – May 19, 2025
