US-based software firm Salesforce to acquire AI company Informatica for US$8 billion

ISTANBUL – US-based software company Salesforce has agreed to acquire Informatica, a pioneer in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, for US$8 billion, according to a statement Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Ajansi, Informatica’s common stockholders will receive US$25 per share in cash, Salesforce announced.

The acquisition will strengthen Salesforce’s data foundation, enabling the deployment of advanced, responsible agentic AI, it said.

“Together, Salesforce and Informatica will deliver the industry’s most comprehensive, agent-ready data platform,” said Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.

“By combining Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and Tableau with Informatica’s leading data management capabilities, we’ll empower autonomous AI agents to deliver smarter, safer outcomes, significantly strengthening our position in the US$150 billion-plus enterprise data market.”

The acquisition is expected to cement Salesforce’s position in AI-driven enterprise solutions. – May 28, 2025
