KUALA LUMPUR – The police have confirmed that the body discovered at a construction site in Bangsar is identified as Jordan Michael John Johnson-Doyle, a British national who had been reported missing.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa informed Scoop that the identification was made by Johnson-Doyle’s uncle, who recognised him by several tattoos on his arms and chest, and no signs of crime were found.

“It has been confirmed that the body belongs to Jordan Johnson-Doyle, who was reported missing on June 2.

“The autopsy revealed that he died from a chest injury caused by a fall from a height.

“There were no signs of foul play at the scene. The case is being treated as a sudden death,” he told Scoop.

Yesterday, police announced the discovery of an unidentified male body near a lift shaft on the lower level of a construction site at Bangsar Hill Park.

Johnson-Doyle, 25, had been travelling solo across Southeast Asia and had been on the road for a year while working remotely as a software engineer for a US company.

His last communication was on May 27, when he sent a photo to a friend from Healy Mac’s Irish Bar in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

His family became worried when they couldn’t reach him by phone and noticed his social media activity had ceased, leading them to file missing person reports. – June 5, 2025
