KUALA LUMPUR — Boeing has launched a new corporate office in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant step in its efforts to deepen support for aviation safety, sustainability and supply chain development in Malaysia.

The office, located at Menara Hap Seng 3, was officially opened today by Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong, alongside US Ambassador Edgard D. Kagan and National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO) chief executive Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah.

Boeing president Penny Burtt said the move reflects the company’s long-standing partnership with Malaysia, which it hopes to strengthen further in line with the Aerospace Blueprint 2030.

“The opening of Boeing’s new expanded corporate office in Kuala Lumpur reflects our deep commitment to the Malaysian government, our employees, customers and partners in the country,” she said in a statement.

Malaysia is one of the largest aviation markets in the Asia-Pacific, and the new office will act as a hub to support Boeing’s operations and initiatives locally.

Liew said Boeing’s presence in Malaysia dates back to 1947 with the delivery of the Douglas DC-3 aircraft and has since grown into a long-term strategic relationship.

“More than 140 Boeing aircraft have been delivered to Malaysian carriers, including over 100 Boeing 737s to Malaysia Airlines,” he said.

He added that Malaysia Aviation Group’s recent plans to purchase up to 60 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft further signals deepening ties that could spur local supply chain growth, skills development and sustainability leadership.

Under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), aerospace is identified as a priority sector to drive economic complexity and green innovation, with NAICO leading the industry’s strategic development.

Beyond aircraft supply, Boeing also operates its only wholly owned manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia—Boeing Composites Malaysia—in Kedah, employing nearly 1,000 Malaysians and producing parts for several of Boeing’s commercial aircraft programmes. — July 16, 2025
