KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce a token of appreciation for all Malaysians at 10.30am tomorrow.

The announcement was made by communications minister and government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil in a Facebook post today.

“The prime minister will make an announcement regarding an appreciation for all Malaysians at 10.30am on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Stay tuned,” he wrote.

Anwar had earlier hinted at good news for the public, with the focus on addressing the rising cost of living.

This has sparked speculation over what the announcement might entail.

On July 14, the prime minister posted a cryptic teaser on his Facebook account that read, “Coming soon: an extraordinary appreciation for the people of Malaysia.”

The post was accompanied by a single caption: “Nantikan” (stay tuned).

Since then, Malaysians have voiced a range of hopes, including expectations of stronger government action to ease cost-of-living pressures. – July 22, 2025
