KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic in and around the city centre is expected to be disrupted as 16 main routes will undergo diversions due to the planned ‘Turun Anwar’ rally tomorrow.
The Deputy Chief of Police for Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, stated that the rally will take place simultaneously across five key locations—Masjid Negara, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, and Sogo Shopping Complex—before participants converge at Dataran Merdeka.
“Traffic diversions will be implemented as needed to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and the safety of all road users,” he said in a statement today.
The affected routes are expected to include:

Jalan Kinabalu / U-turn near Public Bank
Sultan Mohamad Roundabout
Jalan Kinabalu / Exit to Bukit Aman Tunnel
Jalan Kinabalu / Exit to Dato’ Onn Roundabout
Dato’ Onn Roundabout (both directions)
Dato’ Onn Roundabout – from Jalan Parlimen
Jalan Sultan Salahuddin / Dato’ Onn Roundabout
Jalan Kuching / Exit to Jalan Sultan Ismail
Jalan Kinabalu (from Segambut Roundabout to Dato’ Onn Roundabout)
Jalan Kinabalu (from Masjid Negara to Dato’ Onn Roundabout)
Jalan Lebuh Pasar Besar / Jalan Hang Kasturi
Jalan Hishamuddin / Jalan Raja
Jalan Parlimen / Jalan Raja Laut
Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman / Jalan Tun Perak
Jalan Lebuh Ampang / Jalan Tun Perak
Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys in advance and consider using public transport to avoid traffic congestion in the city.
“Motorists are reminded to comply with instructions from traffic police officers deployed at affected locations,” Mohamed Usuf added.
He expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and vigilance of all parties in helping to maintain public order and safety.
