KUALA LUMPUR – More than 350 cycling enthusiasts from six countries gathered in the capital for the Nuances Worldwide Series, marking the event’s first appearance in Asia.
Held from August 1 to 3, the programme ran from early morning rides through to late evening sessions, alongside workshops led by master coaches from Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Singapore.
Participants came from across Southeast Asia as well as the United Kingdom and Australia.
The series, organised by Global Flow Cycling, Ride The World and Malaysia’s Chrome Club, has previously been hosted in Morocco and Spain. Future editions are planned for Mexico in September and the United States in October.
Chrome Club co-founder Fazril Razif said Malaysia was a natural choice for the Asian debut.
“For years people from the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia have been flying here to join our explosive, expressive classes. I’m proud that Malaysia finally has its time on the international stage,” he said.
His fellow co-founder Kenny Roland added that the event had “reinvigorated” his passion for the sport.
“Just seeing people coming from different philosophies and methodologies… the joy on their faces says it all,” he said.
Rhythmic cycling, known locally as spin, has been steadily growing in Malaysia since 2017, with Chrome Club emerging last year as one of the scene’s newest hubs. — August 17, 2025
