KUALA LUMPUR — Gig workers, including e-hailing and p-hailing drivers and riders, can boost their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) savings under Budget 2026 with a matching contribution of up to RM600 per year or RM6,000 for life.
Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the incentive is under EPF’s i-Saraan Plus scheme and is meant to improve social protection and encourage contributions to the retirement fund.
Currently, the i-Saraan scheme allows workers in the informal sector or the self-employed to receive matching contributions of up to RM500 a year.
