KUALA LUMPUR – Police have seized two sharp objects believed to have been used in the fatal stabbing of a Form Four student at a school in Bandar Utama earlier today.
Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, confirmed the incident occurred around 9.10am in the girls’ toilet area, after a teacher heard screams from inside.
“Police responded swiftly and arrested a 14-year-old Form Two male student, suspected of being involved in the attack. We also confiscated two sharp weapons believed to have been used in the incident,” he told Scoop when contacted.
The specific types of weapons are yet to be confirmed, pending further forensic investigation.
The victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her remains were subsequently transported to the University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for a post-mortem examination.
Shamsudin noted that the motive for the attack remains unclear.
“The suspect will be brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday) for remand under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he added.
He also confirmed that no other students were injured during the incident.
A press conference is scheduled to be held by the Director-General of Education, Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad, at 5.00pm this evening at the Education Ministry headquarters in Putrajaya. – October 14, 2025
