KUALA LUMPUR – The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to Sabah’s development with an allocation of RM17.5 billion for 2026, aimed at strengthening the well-being of the people in the state.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF), in a Facebook post today, highlighted that under the MADANI government’s administration, major infrastructure projects have resumed, including the RM13.9 billion Pan Borneo Sabah Highway.

“In addition, the improvement of basic facilities is also being undertaken, including the development of the Sabah Heart Centre at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.

“The MADANI government is also bolstering the supply of essentials with an allocation of RM1.2 billion to ensure the continuity of electricity supply, in addition to RM765 million for the Southern Link Transmission Line Project,” said the ministry.

The Southern Link Transmission Line Project proposes a new electricity transmission line connecting Sabah’s east and west coasts, with the primary aim of stabilising electricity supply across the state. – November 13, 2025
