KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has been urged to explain regarding the wealth of one of his officers, who is said to hold “too many positions” in the Selangor state administration.

The questions were raised in a WhatsApp group called ‘MB Selangor’, which is established to bring the matter to light and handled by an administrator who identifies as ‘Madani’.

Aside from Amirudin, the group also contains several Selangor assemblypersons and opposition party members. Also members are several other political leaders, and at least two members of the media, including one from FMT. Amirudin’s number in the group has been verified as belonging to him.

In the group, ‘Madani’ directly communicates with Amirudin in the group, urging the latter to answer the questions raised in an “honest and fair” manner.

According to a FMT report, the administrator also claimed that the said officer has become a “millionaire” under Aminudin’s administration, owns a bungalow worth at least RM3 million, and brings his family on foreign vacations.

‘Madani’ also claimed that besides holding a senior position in the Selangor state government, the said officer also serves as an “area coordinator”, and sits on the board of a state-owned company, and a famous golf club. The officer is also reportedly on the verge of being appointed to the board of directors of a Selangor state government-owned agency, the administrator added.

As such, ‘Madani’ urged Amirudin to explain why an individual had been appointed to “so many positions”, as it raises the perception as if there is no one else worthy of such positions.

The Menteri Besar has also been urged to reveal the monthly remuneration received by the said officer.

Chats in the group also claim that the officer had demanded “development funds” from various contracts, and is benefiting from several district projects.

FMT contacted the officer, whose identity has been withheld, for comment, and was reportedly told it was “inappropriate to comment.” The portal has also reached out to Amirudin on the matter.– November 15, 2025
