Three ministers sworn in as senators for second term today

Among those sworn in are Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, and Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar

KUALA LUMPUR – Three ministers took their oath of office as senators for the second term today before Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

They are Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

The reappointment enables them to continue carrying out their responsibilities in the Cabinet.

Awang Bemee said the reappointment of the three ministers reflects continued confidence in their expertise and commitment to shaping national policies and driving development.

“This appointment, by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is in accordance with the provisions of Article 45(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution, and is effective from today until Dec 2, 2028, in line with Articles 45(3) and 45(3A) of the Federal Constitution,” he said.

For the record, all three were sworn in as senators for their first term in December 2022. – December 3, 2025
