KELANA JAYA — The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will lodge a police report over the alleged falsification of documents involving seven heritage players, as recommended by the Independent Investigation Committee (IIC).
The move was confirmed by FAM acting president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi during a press conference following a Special Exco Meeting at Wisma FAM today.
“We will file a police report in line with the IIC’s recommendation, which emphasised that the authorities should be given the space to investigate this case.
“We intend to do so in the near future and will report that there was falsification of documents submitted to FIFA.
“We want a full investigation into how this falsification could have occurred and who is responsible, as recommended by the IIC,” he said.
Earlier, the IIC, in its full investigation report, put forward three recommendations to FAM following the document falsification issue involving the seven Harimau Malaya heritage players.
Among the recommendations was for FAM to immediately lodge a police report to enable the authorities to conduct a comprehensive and proper investigation to establish the origin of the documents suspected to be forged and to identify those responsible.
The committee explained that the case involves allegations of falsifying official documents, which constitutes a criminal offence under Malaysian law.
In its findings, the IIC also recommended that FAM’s Disciplinary Committee initiate internal disciplinary proceedings against the association’s secretary-general, subject to due process.
The third recommendation relates to governance, with the IIC proposing enhanced oversight, structural reforms, and the implementation of preventive measures aimed at restoring credibility. – December 22, 2025
