KELANA JAYA – Suspended Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman will be referred to the association’s Disciplinary Board following findings in an independent investigation report.
The decision was confirmed by FAM acting president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi after a Special Executive Committee (Exco) meeting at Wisma FAM today.
Yusoff said the exco had deliberated on the report submitted by former Chief Justice Tun Raus Sharif and the Independent Investigation Committee (IIC), which examined issues related to documentation in the naturalisation of players.
“Based on the recommendations of the IIC, the exco has agreed that Noor Azman’s case be referred to the disciplinary board for further action,” he said.
He stressed that the disciplinary process would be carried out independently in accordance with FAM statutes and regulations.
Yusoff also disclosed that FIFA has launched its own investigation into Noor Azman’s role, focusing on the handling and submission of documents to the world governing body.
“We have received an email from FIFA informing us that they will conduct their own investigation. FIFA wants clarity on the process, the responsibilities of the secretary-general and the extent of his involvement,” he said.
He added that FAM would extend full cooperation to both the Disciplinary Board and FIFA.
“This is a matter of governance and accountability. We respect due process and will provide all necessary information to the relevant bodies,” Yusoff said.
Noor Azman was suspended on October 17 amid scrutiny over documentation submitted to FIFA, which later resulted in sanctions being imposed on FAM.
Yusoff said FAM’s day-to-day operations remain unaffected, with administrative duties being carried out by appointed officers during Noor Azman’s suspension.
“Our priority now is to complete all required processes and ensure that the association moves forward in a transparent and orderly manner,” he added. – December 22, 2025
