KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has identified additional individuals suspected to be involved in a corruption investigation concerning a senior army officer, which involves multiple tender projects under the Malaysian Army’s procurement.

MACC revealed in a statement on its official TikTok that the main suspect in the case is still receiving medical treatment, and as a result, their statement has not been fully recorded.

“MACC respects the health and rights of the individual in accordance with the principles of law and will take their statement once they are declared fit by medical professionals,” it said.

The commission also clarified that no fixed timeline has been set for each phase of the investigation, as the duration depends on the complexity of the case, the number of witnesses, and the need for document and financial analysis.

“In addition to the main suspect, MACC has identified several other individuals believed to be linked to this case. Further actions will be taken based on the results of the investigation and the evidence gathered,” it added.

Furthermore, MACC confirmed that asset tracking and freezing measures are currently underway. However, the exact value of the assets or bank accounts remains undisclosed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing and not all assets have been fully frozen.

The commission emphasised that the investigation is being conducted transparently, professionally, and in accordance with the law, with no interference.

“MACC will not compromise on any form of corruption, and strict action will be taken against any party found to be involved,” it concluded.

On December 29, MACC seized six bank accounts believed to belong to the senior army officer and their family members as part of the investigation into corruption linked to Malaysian Army procurement projects.

MACC also conducted searches at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Army office and the official residence of the suspect from 5 PM to 12 AM on December 27.

The senior officer was scheduled to give a statement at MACC headquarters on December 28, 2025, but was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on that date. – January 2, 2026.
