KUALA LUMPUR — The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will begin its evaluation of the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) management this Tuesday, following the scandal involving forged documents of heritage players.
Allowing a team of experts from the AFC to assess FAM’s management is part of improving administrative weaknesses in the football governing body, Berita Harian reported AFC secretary-general Datuk Seri Windsor Paul John saying.
The AFC team is to begin work on February 3 after the Thaipusam public holiday on Monday, and would take three months to complete their work, including preparing a full report.
“The evaluation results and recommendations by the AFC team will be have to be accepted by all affiliate members first at the congress,” said Windsor.
“Only after that, can fresh elections be held.”
Windsor spoke to Scoop about FAM’s evaluation by the AFC two days ago.
FAM had invited the AFC to evaluate its management and administration after the mass resignations of executive committee members in the wake of the document forgery scandal.
FAM is now being managed by secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman. – January 31, 2026
