KUALA LUMPUR — Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have earned a total of US$1.3 million (RM5.07 million) in prize money from their impressive AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) campaign this season after advancing to the Round of 16.
The Southern Tigers booked their place in the knockout stage with a 1–0 victory over Vissel Kobe at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri last night, with Marcos Guilherme scoring the decisive goal.
According to a report by Asean Football, the US$1.3 million haul comprises several components, with the largest portion coming from an appearance fee of US$800,000 (RM3.12 million).
In addition, JDT collected US$300,000 (RM1.17 million) in performance bonuses after recording three group-stage victories, with each win worth US$100,000 (RM390,000).
Those wins came against Vissel Kobe (1–0), Chengdu Rongcheng (2–0) and Shanghai Shenhua (3–1).
The club also received a further US$200,000 (RM780,000) for progressing to the Round of 16.
The total figure does not include commercial revenue, broadcasting rights income or other forms of subsidies earned during the competition.
The financial reward represents a significant boost both on and off the pitch for Xisco Muñoz’s side, reinforcing JDT’s status as a leading force in Southeast Asian football.
The RM5.07 million sum also excludes the travel subsidy of RM195,000 granted to teams for each away fixture.
For the record, this season’s ACLE champions stand to receive a winners’ prize of US$10 million (RM39 million). — February 18, 2026
