KUALA LUMPUR – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, is currently receiving treatment for musculoskeletal pain affecting his back and hip, according to an official statement from Istana Negara.

Medical professionals have advised him to rest and refrain from official engagements to ensure a full recovery, the statement said.

Due to his condition, Sultan Ibrahim was unable to attend the breaking of fast ceremony held yesterday, which was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Cabinet ministers, and representatives from foreign missions.

Furthermore, the planned inauguration of the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM) mosque has been postponed to a later date.

His Majesty is expected to resume official duties once his health improves. – February 27, 2026
