KUALA LUMPUR – A daylight shooting in Taman Sri Kapar, Klang, this morning resulted in a lorry driver being seriously injured, while two suspected gunmen were also hurt after members of the public intervened.

According to Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar, initial investigations revealed that the two suspects, riding a motorcycle, fired at the lorry driver during the incident.

A nearby four-wheel-drive vehicle witnessed the attack and took immediate action, ramming into the suspects’ motorcycle in an attempt to stop their escape, which left the suspects injured.

A video circulating on social media showed a man lying on the ground, surrounded by police officers conducting investigations, though the exact location of the incident was not specified in the footage.

“I can confirm the incident occurred between 9 am and 9.30 am today.

I will release an official statement shortly with more details,” Shazeli said during a press conference at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) today.

He noted that the police were still unable to confirm the severity of the suspects’ injuries as investigations were ongoing.

“At this point, I cannot provide further details,” he added.

Shazeli further stated that forensic teams from the Selangor IPK and investigating officers were still at the scene.

“We are also unable to confirm the identities or further details of the suspects at this stage. Once forensic investigations are concluded, we will be able to verify the identities, any seized items, and the possible motive behind the incident,” he explained. – March 5, 2026
