KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce additional measures to benefit the public ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Speaking at a briefing by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) streamed live on Anwar’s Facebook profile, his senior press secratry Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, said the government has already introduced seven immediate Madani interventions to lighten the financial burden on citizens in the lead-up to Syawal.

Among the initiatives are the early disbursement of the Tunai Rahmah Contribution (STR) Phase 2 starting tomorrow, the distribution of the 2026 Special Financial Assistance to civil servants, retirees, and veterans, the nationwide expansion of the Rahmah Madani Sales Programme, and broader support under the FlySiswa flight ticket subsidy initiative.

“The Madani government will continue to strive to ensure the welfare of the people remains a top priority, in line with the commitment to build a more just, prosperous, and humane nation.

“Insya-Allah, the Prime Minister will also announce further good news for the people in the near future ahead of Aidilfitri,” Tunku Nashrul said.

He added that the PMO hopes the assistance, initiatives, and measures announced will provide relief, particularly in managing the rising cost of living and preparations for the festive season. – March 9, 2026
