KUALA LUMPUR – The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has reported a strong turnout for its “Kempen Internet Selamat @ Ramadan Bazar”, held across 19 locations nationwide to raise digital safety awareness during the festive season.

With online transactions surging during Ramadan, the campaign engaged the public through interactive booths, providing crucial guidance on cybersecurity.

Visitors participated in sessions covering parental controls, social media misuse, online scams, and broader cybercrime prevention. Approximately 10,000 Ramadan kits containing educational brochures and festive goods were distributed, while nearly 1,000 individuals registered as “Wira Internet Selamat”.

MCMC staff were joined by officers from the National Information Dissemination Centre to ensure the campaign’s smooth execution. The initiative also received high-level support from Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching, and Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin.

MCMC affirmed its ongoing commitment to fostering a secure and trusted digital environment, in line with government efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s multimedia ecosystem. – March 9, 2026
