KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said investigation papers related to a gang robbery case have been submitted to the legal adviser’s office at Bukit Aman for further review.
According to him, the papers involve two police inspectors accused of robbing a businessman of more than RM300,000 in cash and gold bars. The documents were forwarded to obtain legal opinion and guidance on the next course of action.
“Investigations into the case have been completed following the arrest of all suspects involved.
“All suspects were arrested by the Gombak district police headquarters, with the last two detained yesterday. They are currently under remand to assist in investigations.
“InsyaAllah, we have obtained positive findings in this case, and if there are further developments, we will share them accordingly,” he was quoted saying by NST.
According to Shazeli, early interrogation revealed that the suspects were acquainted with one another and had jointly planned the robbery, with the mastermind believed to be a civilian.
Earlier reports stated that the victim, a 50-year-old cosmetics trader, was allegedly deceived by a group of men who claimed to be police officers conducting an inspection at his home.
The suspects allegedly ordered the victim to remove approximately RM300,000 in cash, along with two 100g gold bars, from his safe. The valuables were then placed into a cloth bag and handed over to the men.
The group later fled the scene in a van. The victim lodged a police report after realising he had been tricked.
Police launched a special operation on March 2, which resulted in the arrest of six individuals.
Those detained include two police inspectors, a policeman and three civilians.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a public servant. – March 11, 2026
