KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) launched the 2026 NADI Raya Bazaar at 1,098 National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) across the country, engaging up to 10,000 community entrepreneurs in preparation for Aidilfitri.

In a statement, the MCMC said the initiative, under the NADI Smart Service programme, is designed to empower local entrepreneurs and expand opportunities for them to showcase and sell their products during the festive season.

Participation this year has doubled compared with more than 5,000 entrepreneurs involved in 2025, the commission noted.

“The NADI 2026 Bazaar, as a continuation of the 2025 edition, is not merely a seasonal sales platform. It is part of MCMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the community’s digital economic ecosystem, bridge the digital divide and enhance the people’s socio-economic competitiveness in line with the objectives of establishing NADI,” the statement read.

In the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency, the event was officiated by its Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, coinciding with the Safe Internet Campaign.

“Community bazaars like this not only boost the local economy, but also provide opportunities for the community to venture into small-scale entrepreneurship,” Wan Azizah said. She added that the programme allows locals to introduce a variety of products, including food, clothing, Raya cookies and handicrafts, reflecting creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

She also expressed hope that the initiative would continue to empower communities while promoting safe internet use and enlivening the festive atmosphere ahead of Aidilfitri.

MCMC chairman Mohamad Salim Fateh Din was also present at the launch.

Beyond Kuala Lumpur, this year’s programme extends to NADI centres in Sungai Tua, Selangor; Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Said Tambahan 2, Perak; Kulai, Johor; and Kubang Semang, Penang. – March 14, 2026
