KUALA LUMPUR – Subang MP Wong Chen has sent a second follow-up letter to the Selangor State Government regarding the proposed development near the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, citing a lack of response to earlier enquiries.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Wong said his office dispatched the latest letter on March 16, exactly three months after the initial enquiry sent on December 16, 2025, and following a first follow-up on January 6, 2026.
“Yesterday morning, my office sent another follow-up letter to the Selangor State Government on the development proposal near the Ayer Hitam forest reserve,” Wong said.
“We have not received any updates since the first enquiry letter issued on December 16, 2025 and the first follow-up letter on January 6, 2026,” he added.
The letter, addressed to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, seeks clarification on plans for 169 acres of land near the forest reserve in Kinrara.
Wong highlighted growing opposition from residents over recent months.
“I have been informed that the signatures collected by the residents to object to this development plan have increased from 3,752 to 6,270, a 67% increase,” he said.
“It is a concerning issue and the Selangor State Government should answer to the people on this matter,” Wong added.
The letter reiterates two key requests. Firstly, Wong called on the state government to provide a detailed chronology of the land, including how it was degazetted and transferred from Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad to Perano Properties Development Sdn. Bhd., which he said is linked to the Jakel Group.
Secondly, he requested that the state government disclose the land’s transaction prices, so that the potential cost of reacquisition — which could ultimately be borne by Selangor taxpayers — can be assessed.
Wong has asked for a response within 14 days from the date of the latest letter.
Previously, residents in Puchong had urged Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han to reveal details of the mixed-use development planned on about 68.411 hectares adjacent to the forest reserve.
In November 2025, more than 700 residents gathered at Taman Tasik Wawasan to protest the project, voicing concerns over potential traffic congestion, environmental damage, and the loss of green spaces in the densely populated township. – March 17, 2026
