Motorists across Malaysia will enjoy a 50% toll discount for two days during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period, as the government rolls out targeted relief to ease festive travel costs

KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a 50% discount on toll charges nationwide to ease travel burdens during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

“This discount will take effect from 12:01am on March 18, 2026 (Wednesday), until 11:59pm on March 19, 2026 (Thursday),” he said.

The 48-hour incentive applies to Class 1 private vehicles on all national highways, excluding border toll plazas at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and Tanjung Kupang on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua).

The Prime Minister said the initiative is expected to cost the government approximately RM21.03 million in compensation to toll concessionaires.

The measure forms part of a broader government strategy to provide targeted financial relief to millions of road users returning to their hometowns for the festive season. – March 17, 2026
