KUALA LUMPUR – The Pilgrims’ Fund Board (Tabung Haji – TH) today declared a profit distribution of 3.50 per cent after zakat for the 2025 financial year — the strongest rate in eight years.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Zulkifli Hasan, said the payout totals RM3.22 billion, directly benefiting more than 9.7 million depositors.

“This rate was achieved after taking into account zakat repayment at 2.577 per cent, amounting to RM95.3 million,” he told a press conference attended by TH Chairman Abdul Rashid Hussain, Group CEO Mustakim Mohamad, and Finance Group Executive Director Shamsul Bahar Shamsudin.

Strongest performance in eight years

Zulkifli attributed the robust results to enhanced governance, disciplined cost management and resilient investment strategies.

He also revealed that cumulative profit distribution since TH’s establishment 62 years ago has now reached RM49 billion.

Depositors can check their credited profit distribution beginning 10 am on March 19 via the THiJARI platform, TH counters, and partner banks including Bank Islam, Bank Rakyat, Maybank Islamic, CIMB Islamic and AmBank Islamic.

Zakat contribution strengthens social impact

TH will pay RM95.3 million in zakat to all State Islamic Religious Councils (MAIN) on behalf of depositors in 2025, distributed according to savings balances by state.

“To date, Tabung Haji has paid RM1.57 billion in zakat, further strengthening efforts to assist the asnaf group,” Zulkifli said.

Record investment income

TH recorded its highest-ever investment income of RM4.64 billion in 2025, compared with RM4.56 billion in 2024.

“Overall, Tabung Haji’s financial position remains strong, with total assets of RM98.58 billion exceeding total liabilities of RM95.63 billion,” Zulkifli added.

Supporting pilgrims and communities

Since its inception, TH has enabled more than 1.5 million Malaysian Muslims to perform the haj. Through its Zakat Wakalah Programme, TH supported over 726,000 beneficiaries nationwide last year, bringing the total to more than 2.9 million recipients over the past decade.

The distribution was made in accordance with the Tabung Haji Act 1995, following audits by the National Audit Department. – March 18, 2026
