KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has launched a special Aidilfitri music video titled “19.5 Puasa di Kampom Pisam – Selamat Tenet Raya” to raise awareness about the growing threat of online scams.
Directed by Amen Khalid, the video centres on Pak Jabit, a small trader played by Aziz M Osman, who is busy preparing for Hari Raya Aidilfitri at his stall while eagerly awaiting the return of his children.
His festive joy, however, is shattered when a suspicious message leads to a scam, wiping out his entire savings. The loss not only disrupts his holiday preparations but also leaves a deep emotional impact, illustrating the serious consequences of cybercrime.
Pak Jabit eventually receives support from his family and local community, who rally together to help him recover and rebuild his business. The storyline underscores the importance of community bonds while serving as a cautionary tale about online risks.
MCMC emphasises that the video is a timely reminder for the public to remain vigilant against unknown messages and links, particularly during periods of heightened online activity such as the festive season. People are urged not to share personal or financial details and to verify the legitimacy of any information before taking action.
This project forms part of MCMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital safety awareness, demonstrating that even a single careless click can have significant repercussions.
In addition to Aziz M Osman, the video features actors Bell Ngasri, Kazar Saisi, Joey Daud, among others. The music video can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnwSELqGA8I . – March 19, 2026
