KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has urged the public to refrain from speculating through media channels and instead lodge official reports over allegations of solicitation and payment of money to a politician.

In a statement today, MACC said it has taken note of claims circulating widely but stressed that no formal complaint has been received to date.

“MACC has taken note of various allegations circulating in the media concerning the solicitation and payment of money to a politician. However, to date, no official report has been received, and the information being circulated remains unverified,” the commission said.

The anti-graft body emphasised that credible information must be channelled through proper reporting mechanisms to enable a thorough and transparent investigation process.

“MACC urges any party in possession of credible information to come forward and lodge an official report, so that investigations may be carried out comprehensively, transparently, and based on facts,” it added.

Reaffirming its commitment to due process, MACC said any enforcement action would be guided strictly by evidence and existing legal provisions.

“The MACC remains committed to examining all information received, and any action will only be taken based on solid evidence, in accordance with the provisions of the law,” it said. – March 27, 2026
