Leaders stress careful engagement and internal resolution to uphold party discipline and credibility

KUALA LUMPUR – The Johor PKR State Leadership Council (MPN) has warned that continued public statements by Pandan MP Datuk Seri Mohd Rafizi Ramli could affect internal harmony and weaken the party.

In a joint statement, MPN Johor chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa and her deputy, Md. Ysahrudin Kusni said that publicly raising serious allegations should be handled cautiously to avoid undermining party discipline and member trust.

“It is better for all views to be channelled through appropriate internal avenues, so that external parties cannot manipulate the situation.

“MPN Keadilan Johor also sees this situation as more than just courage to speak out, but it can be misinterpreted as actions that negatively impact the party’s stability,” the statement said.

Previously, several party leaders had criticised Rafizi, claiming his attacks on PKR and the government had sparked unnecessary polemics and misleading narratives.

Among them, PKR Kelantan Chair Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor reminded that openly attacking the party without attempting internal resolution allows outsiders to exploit the situation.

Meanwhile, MPN Keadilan Sarawak Secretary Mahmud Epah described Rafizi’s public statements as a major liability for the Reformasi movement and the party’s image, urging him to leave PKR if he no longer aligns with the party’s direction.

MPN Johor emphasised the need for a more prudent approach.

“When former leaders choose to continue publicly criticising the party, it naturally raises questions among members about direction and shared priorities,” the statement said.

“Any action that could damage the party’s image must be handled wisely. PKR Johor remains committed to defending stability and ensuring the party continues moving forward in an organised manner,” it added. – April 3, 2026
