KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has been recognised in the Analytics – Telecommunications category at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for its pioneering national network intelligence platform, MCMC Nexus.

The platform enhances the monitoring and management of connectivity performance across Malaysia, reflecting MCMC’s commitment to data-driven regulation and improved telecommunications service quality nationwide.

MCMC Nexus transforms crowdsourced mobile measurements into actionable insights, enabling real-time network performance monitoring. This allows for precise identification of connectivity gaps, supports targeted interventions, and contributes to ongoing service improvements for Malaysians.

A standout feature of the platform is its Auto Alert function, which aligns with Malaysia’s Mandatory Standards for Quality of Service (MSQoS). “It enables early detection of potential service degradation and facilitates timely engagement with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs),” MCMC said.

Built with strict privacy-by-design principles, MCMC Nexus ensures all data remains anonymised. The Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP) confirmed that the platform does not collect personal information, using only anonymous network performance data in compliance with Malaysia’s data protection laws.

The initiative highlights MCMC’s efforts to integrate emerging technologies into staff training and talent development.

These accolades underscore MCMC’s ability to create high-impact, homegrown regulatory technology while reinforcing its dedication to innovation, internal capability development, and data-driven regulation in advancing Malaysia’s digital ecosystem.

Members of the public are invited to experience MCMC Nexus via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
